BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Jordanian King Abdullah II on Sunday received an invitation from Iraqi President Jalal Talabani to attend the Arab summit due to be held in Baghdad in late March.

Iraq's Minister of Planning Ali al-Shukri handed over the invitation to the monarch, according to Jordanian news agency (Petra).

The King underlined during his meeting with al-Shukri that Jordan backed Iraq's hosting of the summit and is keen on its success to boost joint Arab action and Arab unity.

During the audience, attended by the King's advisers and the Iraqi ambassador in Amman Jawad Abbas, the monarch reiterated Jordan's full support of any effort to bolster Iraq's security and stability.

The meeting also dealt with means of enhancing Jordanian-Iraqi ties, particularly in economic fields.

For his part, the minister expressed his country's keenness to provide all facilities for Arab leaders to render the coming summit a success.
