MP calls to prevent dual citizenship holders to get State's posts

BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the Iraqiya coalition, Wesal Salim called on the religious authorities and the Iraqi people to support the approval of the constitutional article that prevents holders of dual citizenship from running for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
She said in a statement: "The election law, which is scheduled to be approved in the coming days, should emphasize not to give any post in the State to those who has dual citizenship, as this demand is passed by the Constitution in Article 18 / 4."
She continued: "We have previous experience in this regard, as many of the corrupt and looters had fled to get cover from the other nationality, so we call on the religious authorities, civil society, organizations, media and the Iraqi people to stand with the approval of this constitutional article," stressing that anyone who opposes this demand, he wants to keep the corrupt and looters in the political process. / end
