I expected the Iraqi Oil Ministry on Wednesday that exceed the country's production target set for 2013, with expectations of an increase of 400 thousand barrels per day when you start running the Majnoon field.
said a spokesman for the Iraqi Oil Ministry, Assem Jihad, said in a statement reported for "Twilight News" that Iraq's production of crude oil amounted to 3.25 million barrels per day at the beginning of August, compared with 2.942 million barrels per day a year ago, which refers to the possibility of exceeding the production target at the end of 2013.

He added that Iraq is expected to increase total production of 400 thousand barrels per day by the end of the year with the start of the Majnoon field, operated by Shell in October and the other small fields.

The government set the size of the production target for the end of this year at 3.4 million barrels a day, down from 3.7 million barrels earlier.

And began to increase in the production of Iraq since 2010 after it entered into service contracts with major oil companies, including me. BP and Royal Dutch Shell, Eni and Exxon Mobil.

Since then, production rose by 600 thousand barrels per day, surpassing the three million barrels a day, thanks to increased production from large fields in the south such as Rumaila and West Qurna-1 and Zubair.

Iraq needs to initiate the production of other fields in the south, including the Majnoon and West Qurna 2, which operated by Russia's Lukoil to continue to increase production
