Baghdad (AIN) –The parliament session which was headed by the first Deputy Speaker, Qusay al-Sihail, was lifted till Tuesday of next week.

A statement by the media office of the parliament received by AIN cited "The session that was attended by 199 MPs witnessed voting on three law drafts and conducting the first and second reading for four law drafts."

"The parliament voted on extending the term of the Independent High Electoral Commission for 15 days," the statement added.

"The Parliament Chairmanship postponed the vote on the Supreme Federal Court Law and the Supreme Judicial Council Law at the desire of the blocs' leaders to get more time to complete the dialogues about these laws," the statement concluded. /End/
