The Iraqi government announced on its movement by issuing a request to Interpol for the arrest of the Vice President of the Republic required to eliminate Tariq al-Hashemi who is outside of Iraq.


A media adviser to Prime Minister Ali al-Moussawi told all of Iraq [where] said on Monday that "there was a move by the Ministry of the Interior to issue a request for the International Police [INTERPOL] the arrest of al-Hashemi, under an agreement concluded with it."


"In the case of the return of Hashemi to Iraq through Baghdad International Airport, the security services would be obliged to arrest him pursuant to judicial order issued against him."
