BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki invited his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina to visit Iraq, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
"Iraqi Ambassador to Bangladesh Shaker Qassem Mahdi met with Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Dipu Moni to discuss the invitation sent by al-Maliki to Sheikh Hasina Waged to visit Iraq," said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"The meeting tackled several subjects and issues of common interest," it added.
"The Bangladeshi minister expressed desire to visit Iraq to boost bilateral relations," the statement said.
