NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: The Secretary-General of Iraq's Justice & Reform Movement,
Sheikh Abdullah Humeidy Ajil al-Yawar, has reiterated necessity that the Iraqi Political
Arena should face a strong opposition vis-a-vis the government, in order to observe its
activity, also confirming necessity for the formation of a government, that represents all
Iraqis and achieves balancing in government institutions, the Armed Forces and the Security
Bodies.
"It is necessary that the Iraqi political arena should face the existence of a strong opposition
inside the Parliament and outside it, to observe the activity of the Central Government," Sheikh Yawar told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, stressing that "Iraqis had never felt the existence of a
real opposition since 60 years," adding that "the Iraqi governments, that were formed over the
modern history had been empty from opposition, due to the fact that all political forces had
been inside the government," considering that as a "mistake."

Sheikh Yawar, at the same time had confirmed necessity that "the proposed government must not be of a sectarian nature, but must represent all Iraqis and act for the interest of all the people, in such a way that achieves balancing in the government institutions, the Armed Forces and the Security Bodies."

In conclusion, Sheikh Yawar has demanded the holding of the proposed National Conference in the nearest possible time to "settle the current suspended problems," calling on the political forces to take the interest of the country into consideration, instead of the narrow-party and sectarian interests," along with the implementation of the commitments and promises they had announced to their masses.
