He said Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said the cabinet had approved the Additional Protocol to the Agreement between Iraq and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the application of safeguards under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of nuclear weapons and urged the House to expedite the ratification of the Protocol.

Dabbagh said in a press statement received the long version of him that push to ratify the Additional Protocol is part of government's efforts to consolidate the effectiveness of the safeguards system and improve its efficiency as a contribution to nuclear non-proliferation world and take advantage of the peaceful use of nuclear energy and technical support by the International Agency for Atomic Energy of techniques and techniques in this field and which can be brought to Iraq for the development of sectors of the State in areas important to provide excellent services to the Iraqi people.

He explained that the protocol provides for the negotiation by the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with countries willing to accept measures to reach an agreement satisfactory to both parties without any force to sign and that the negotiations would be under the cover of the House of Representatives before signing to regain Iraq's legitimate rights to compensation for destroyed and more illegal in 1981 under UN Security Council Resolution (487) and the destruction of nuclear facilities in 1991, which was subject to IAEA safeguards, not related to uses of non-peaceful energy of what was called the reactor July 14 Dabbagh said that the cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will re-create a nuclear program for peaceful uses of atomic energy in the agricultural, industrial and medical in Iraq based on the Council of Ministers Resolution No. (169) for the year 2011 and through the Agency, particularly the UN Security Council passed a resolution (1762) for the year 2007 the judge to stop monitoring and verification activities and follow-up as well as the recent decision (1957) for the year 2010, which confirms that there is no activity for a peaceful Iraq, and allow him to carry on its activities in the field of peaceful atomic energy. Israel had attacked the Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1982 and destroyed by aerial bombardment where there are occasional calls for Iraq to file a lawsuit against it and demand compensation for losses caused by this aggression.
