Today, Friday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the achievement of self-sufficiency for 15 crops, while indicating that it is close to achieving self-sufficiency in animal products.

A spokesman for the Minister of Agriculture, Hadi al-Yasiri, told the official agency, and it was followed by / the information /, that

"achieving self-sufficiency in the domestic product for agricultural products is accompanied by requirements and requirements that must be met," noting that

"among these requirements is the financial abundance and the annual financial allocation, which falls within the allocations of support Farmers to provide vaccines, veterinary medicines and pesticides. He added,

"It is also among the requirements to provide sound inputs for agricultural production, foremost of which is the abundance of water necessary to implement agricultural plans and to cultivate sufficient areas to achieve productivity that meets local self-sufficiency of products," explaining that

"Despite the great challenges, Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency for 15 crops for vegetables, and approached self-sufficiency for animal products, especially poultry, by a large percentage," explaining that

"there is a decline due to the crises that Iraq is exposed to in particular, foremost of which is climate change and water scarcity, in addition to To the Corona crisis and others.”
