Met with His Excellency the Minister of Planning Dr. Yusuf Ali Shukri, the Palais des Nations in Geneva on 8/12/2011, and the presence of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq Ambassador Mohammed Ali Hakim, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Mr. Supachai Panitchpakdi.

The sides discussed on many issues of concern to Iraq, especially the most important priorities of the main economic issues and development and activating programs to assist Iraq in the framework of its accession to the WTO and the Iraq policy in the field of investment and trade, science and technology, in addition to holding training courses for the development of Iraqi capabilities in the areas of trade and human development, economic and prepare a report of an integrated investment policy of Iraq, and expressed the readiness of the Secretary-General of UNCTAD to provide the necessary support and technical advice for Iraq and the request from the Iraqi side to prepare a paper priorities include Iraq in the short and medium enterprises.

Including the development of a general framework for comprehensive economic policy, including key sectors such as energy, agriculture, water, industry and human resources.

Met with His Excellency the Minister of Planning Dr. Yusuf Ali Shukri and Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations Office in Geneva Ambassador Mohammed Ali Hakim, Mr. Francis Gurry Director General of the World Organization of Intellectual Property in the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, on Thursday, 8/12/2011, on the sidelines of the meetings of the seventeenth session of the meetings of the Standing Committee on the Law of Patents, has been during the meeting to exchange views between the parties with respect to activating the role and work of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Iraq, and His Excellency the Minister to Iraq's desire to develop this relationship through the training of Iraqi staff by conducting training sessions at the headquarters of the Organization in Geneva or by sending experts to Iraq. This Minister also expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, which reflects the volume of cooperation and good relationship between Iraq and the Organization, for its part, the representative of Iraq's permanent ambassador Mohammed al-Hakim of the Director General of the request to help Iraq prepare a comprehensive plan of action on intellectual property.

Iraq participates in the Ministerial Conference on Refugees

Opened at United Nations Headquarters in Geneva works Ministerial Conference on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and the 50th anniversary of the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness and that for the period from 7-12/8 / 2011, was attended by Iraq's high-level delegation headed by HE the Minister of Displacement and Migration, a professor Dindar Longman Doski and membership of the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations Office in Geneva Ambassador Mohammed Ali Hakim, and His Excellency the Minister a statement of Iraq, who thanked the role of the High Commissioner for Refugees Excellence to help Refugees, also thanked the countries that hosted the Iraqis, as noted Minister to the possibilities provided by the Government of the Republic of Iraq to encourage the voluntary return of Iraqis displaced and migrants, in addition to the significant improvement of the overall security situation in Iraq.

And also said that the ministry is working to provide services to migrants and displaced people through various programs and activities for reintegration into the community which led to the repatriation of more than 140 thousand families in Iraq.

Minister of Displacement and Migration meets UN High Commissioner for Refugees

Met with the Minister of Displacement and Migration, Mr. Dindar Longman Doski and Permanent Representative of Iraq to the UN Office in Geneva Ambassador Mohammed Ali Hakim, Mr. Antonio Guterres, High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on Monday, 6 \ 12 \ 2011, at the headquarters of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva (UNHCR ) During the meeting, exchange of views between the parties regarding the status of refugees and displaced Iraqis, where the Minister referred to the high number of Iraqi families returning, whether migratory or displaced because of the volatile security situation, and the assistance provided to them by the Iraqi government to encourage them to return either through bonus payments or the provision of housing and employment opportunities. For his part, thanked the High Commissioner and the Iraqi government's efforts to cooperate with the Commission and stressed the continuation of this cooperation to work to close the file for Iraqi refugees soon. And discussed the importance of the return of qualified Iraqi immigrant to the country and the need to encourage private companies working in Iraq, which got the contracts.
