Minister of Agriculture: We have achieved self-sufficiency in 12 agricultural items

The Minister of Agriculture, Muhammad Karim al-Khafaji, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency in 12 agricultural items, pointing to the Council of Ministers formed an emergency committee to open import in general.
Al-Khafaji said in a television interview, followed by the "National News Center", that "the cabinet formed an emergency committee to open imports in general," noting that
"the Ministerial Economic Council approved the agricultural calendar and it will be discussed in the cabinet session next week."
He added that "Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency with 12 agricultural items," noting that
"the ministry agreed with the Kurdistan Region to enter the materials according to the agricultural calendar."
And he indicated that "there is a strategic plan to preserve the agricultural sector."
