Ports launches devices to scan containers with "radiation" worth 40 million dollars

The director of the Ports of Iraq Captain Imran Radi said in an interview (range Press), "The company has launched, today, Thursday, at the port of Umm Qasr two devices to scan containers of goods radiation to detect what is inside, photographed and checked," noting that "these two out of the four devices U.S. Manufacture been contracted to buy them with the U.S. company SAIC to equip the Iraqi ports to scan containers valued at 40 million U.S. dollars. "



He satisfied that "the Department of Transportation contracted to buy these devices and granted to the General Authority for Customs in order to accelerate the completion of transactions for merchants and the transfer of goods from the port to the outside without the presence of obstacles or delay seen in the ports," he said, adding that "two of these devices steadfast and other two moving will be processed by the ports of Umm Qasr and Khor Al-Zubair and Abu Flus and stronghold. "



For his part, Chairman of the Committee of border crossings in the Basra Governorate Council Murtaza Schuller in an interview (range Press), "The port is witnessing a remarkable development through the use of modern technologies and providing goods and audited in the phase of competition ports of neighboring countries."



Schuller added that "the development of ports by using modern equipment comes to secure ports of entry containers containing explosive materials as well as to protect the goods from the port to the delay in the audit."
