Iraq and Britain sign agreement to establish a Ministerial Council for Trade Cooperation

Signed and Iraqi Foreign Minister and British Minister of State on an agreement to establish a Ministerial Council Iraqi - British business cooperation.


A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry received and Euphrates News Agency {} a copy of "Ministerial Committee Iraqi - British Joint Trade Cooperation held today its first meeting in Baghdad headed by Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on the Iraqi side and the Minister of State for the Middle East Alistair Burt on the British side and was attended by a number of senior officials and Ministers of both countries. "

He continued, "it was at the meeting agreed to hold meetings of the Joint Ministerial Committee semi-annually in both countries."

The statement said that "the meeting included research opportunities in the Iraqi market and to focus on specific sectors such as education, cultural exchange and the field of infrastructure, aviation and sales of defense, in addition to ways to overcome the obstacles that hinder cooperation in the areas of visas and the movement of goods and people and the airline direct."

He said he "was also agreed to hold regular meetings with the participation of a larger number of representatives of the two countries to remove obstacles facing the development of relations between the two countries."
