URGENT / Parliament approves Supreme Judicial Council bill

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi parliament has approved the Supreme Judicial Council draft law with a strong majority.
Members of the State of Law (Dawlat al-Qanoon) bloc had withdrew from the parliament’s session on Saturday , protesting the attempt to vote on the Supreme Judicial Council bill without the Federal Court draft law.
"The lawmakers of the bloc wanted to vote on the Federal Court bill before the Supreme Judicial Council," an official source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The parliament started its regular session today with 231lawmakers attending to vote on the Federal Court, Supreme Judicial Council bills and to question Youth Minister.
