US Defense Secretary discuss arming Iraqi army with Saadun al-Dulaymi

Baghdad (AIN) –The Iraqi Acting Defense Minister Saadun al-Dulaimi, hosted the American Deputy Secretary of Defense, Ashton Carter, at the headquarter of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense in Baghdad, where they discussed the development of the strategic relations between Iraq and America.
The Ministry of Defense reported in statement received by AIN on Thursday ''During the meeting, the Iraqi minister and the US Secretary of Defense confirmed their intention to develop the strategic relations between Iraq and the USA in armament and training fields as well as exchanging experiences and information in accordance with the strategic cooperation convention concluded between the two countries. "
The US Deputy Secretary of Defense, Ashton Carter, has arrived in Baghdad on Thursday and met the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and they discussed arming the Iraqi Army and activating the strategic framework convention which was signed between Iraq and America
