ERBIL, July 24 (AKnews) – It was announced a month ago that a Sheraton Hotel will open in Erbil in 2015.
Hilton is going to open a 300-room hotel with an eforea spa in 2013.
Meanwhile, both Best Western and Marriott have expressed interest in opening hotels in Erbil.
Northern Kurdistan is a relatively safe area known more for its historic citadel, Jarmo Neolithic archaeological site and the ruins of Salahaddin's Fortress rather than the war-torn Iraq conjured up from media reports, reported Hotel Chatter.
Hilton reported that the new hotel will include 30 suites and a further 10 chalets featuring a large health club, an outdoor and indoor pool and an upscale retail arcade.
According to Hotel Chatter an additional compliment will be an eforea spa, one of the fastest growing spa concepts in the world.
A Doubletree by Hilton will open in the area as well at the end of 2013.
The hotel will also include several dining options, as well as a lobby lounge and a pool bar. The extended part of the hotel will open in 2016.
