Baghdad (AIN) -Exclusive report for (AIN) from Ankara said that the Turkish President Abdullah Gul met on Monday evening Head of the Iraqiya Slate Dr. Ayad Allawi who arrived in Turkey in a two day visit.
A statement announced by the Turkish Presidency stated that "Gul’s meeting with Allawi comes as a part of programs to meet all the Iraqi political parties."
The statement added that "President Gul mentioned that Turkey attached importance to the integrity and unity of Iraq and to building a future of understanding and mutual respect among all the political parties."
According to the Turkish statement, "Allawi pointed out that Turkey is one of the countries that exert every possible effort to achieve stability in the region," stressing the importance of the "constructive role played by Turkey in the region."

Allawi has met first with the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davut Oğlu and deliberated with him his views on the internal situation in Iraq.
Oğlu emphasized his country's desire to regain stability in Iraq within the framework of a constitutional system.
It is planned for Allawi to meet during his visit the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. /End/
