Baghdad (AIN) –MP Jamal al-Kilani, of Tajdeed bloc within the Iraqiya Slate, described the statements of the Secretary General of the Non-Governmental Organizations Alliance Abbas al-Mihamadawi over the case of the judicially wanted Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi as “Cheap blackmail.”

In a statement to the All Iraq News Agency, MP Kilani said Tuesday “Mihamadawi should have appreciated the stance of the Kurdistan Regional Government which deals with Hashimi’s case objectively since Hashimi is still in his post officially as the Vice-President of Iraq.”

“The evidence of Hashimi’s innocence is the rejection of the government to transfer his case to Kirkuk,” he added.

Earlier, the Mihamadawi urged the Government and Parliament to “suspend Kurdistan Region’s share of the Budget until the KRG delivers the judicially wanted VP Hashimi to judicial authorities in Baghdad.”

The President of KR Masoud Barzani has demanded the three Presidencies and the Iraqiya Slate to “settle Hashimi’s case politically due to its direct effect on the future of Iraq.” /End/
