BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A Member of the Parliamentary Financial Commission expressed expectations that the Presidency might cancel the armored vehicles resolution.
"The parliament should implement its supervisory role over the government and executive authority to combat corruption," MP Najiba Najeeb, of al-Iraqiya Bloc, said today.
Last Thursday, the parliament voted for a resolution to provide each MP and senior parliament officials an armored vehicle.
This move was supported by 200 votes, but refused by many others, as well as the public opinion.
