Baghdad / NINA / Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced: “Iraq will reach self-sufficiency in gasoline in the middle of next year, 2024.”

Abdul Ghani said in a televised statement:

“The Karbala refinery is one of the most advanced refineries in the region.
It is environmentally friendly and designed according to European specifications.”  He explained:

“The refinery will produce large quantities of white products, led by
gasoline, in addition to
gas oil and
kerosene,” noting:

“When operating, the refinery will produce 8,000 cubic meters of high-octane gasoline per day,

equivalent to two-thirds of the quantity that Iraq now imports.”".  He added:

"There are other projects in the southern refineries, and
when they are operational, the import of gasoline will stop."

The Minister of Oil indicated that the halt of exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan came for technical reasons as a result of a leak within Turkish territory, indicating that:

“After resuming exports through the Ceyhan pipeline at full capacity, the quantities lost as a result of its cessation will be compensated.” / End to receive more news.
