Deployment of seismic teams to increase gas and oil production in Iraq

The Ministry of oil has deployed seismic teams in the western regions and Nineveh province to discover hydrocarbon structures that can increase national gas or oil production,
while confirming its progress in implementing its program towards optimal investment of gas associated with oil operations, especially in the southern regions.
"His ministry has deployed seismic teams in the western regions and Nineveh governorate to discover more hydrocarbon structures, whether gas or oil," said ministry spokesman Assem Jihad in an interview with the official newspaper "Al-Sabah" and its affiliate "Mawazine news",
pointing to the possibility of adding these structures to the country's reserves to be auxiliary factors to increase national production of gas or oil. Jihad stressed that
"the ministry is continuing to implement its program towards the optimal investment of gas associated with oil operations, especially in the southern regions," noting that
"the work is focused on converting it from burnt gas to useful clean energy that supplies electric power plants with energy, as well as all industries related to gas uses, including petrochemical, cement factories and others. He added that
"the ministry has already concluded several contracts in this regard, including contracts to invest all the gas from the fields of Maysan province with one of the Chinese companies that have made great strides in completing the stages of the project, and another contract with an American company to invest gas in the fields of Dhi Qar province," noting that
"these investments will add about 500 makmq to national production. He continued,
"the Ministry of oil is also working on investing gas in the Artawi and other fields, and has taken important steps in this direction, as well as planning to invest about 600 of the fields that are not supported by the Basra Gas Company," pointing out that
"the last company, which was established in 2020, invests associated gas from four fields with the aim of reaching the investment of 2000 daily, achieving so far about 60 percent of what it aspires to. Jihad pointed out that
"Iraq has set the year 2026 as a date to achieve good rates in this framework," adding that
"the ministry is also seeking to invest the akaz field in the western region, which is one of the most important free gas fields located underground, which will add quantities estimated at 700 million standard cubic meters. Ended 29/33
