The Central Bank called on all banks to provide it with information about banks and personalities involved in stealing tax money.

A document dated 10/19/2022 and obtained by (Baghdad Today), Thursday, showed the central bank’s request from all banks to provide it with information about the banks and personalities involved in stealing tax money.

Yesterday, Wednesday, former Finance Minister Ali Allawi issued a detailed statement regarding the theft of tax trust funds from the Rafidain Bank, while revealing the most important officials on the file.

Allawi said in his statement, which was obtained by (Baghdad Today), that

"the theft of the tax authority's money occurred through a direct process between the General Tax Authority and the Rafidain Bank."  He added that

"Al-Rafidain Bank did not play its role in the process of informing the ministry about the amount of large withdrawn amounts," noting that

"the main factor for this brazen theft is that the Ministry of Finance and the state's arms are behind in terms of adopting information and computing systems."

Meanwhile, the Karkh Investigation Court announced, on Wednesday, the recruitment of a member of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives for the previous session

A statement by the judiciary, received by (Baghdad today), stated that

“the second Karkh investigation court, which is specialized in integrity issues, decided to bring in a member of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives for the previous session on the charge of intentional damage to state funds in accordance with the provisions of Article 340 of the Penal Code to issue a recommendation to disburse tax deposits before completing the audits from by the regulatory authorities.

In the same regard, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee announced its intention to prepare a comprehensive technical report on the file of money lost from the tax secretariats.

Committee member Sarwa Abdul Wahed said in a joint press conference, which was followed by (Baghdad Today), that

"the Integrity Committee will prepare a comprehensive report to diagnose the main responsible for the theft of the century and all those responsible for these thefts," noting

"the importance of the Iraqi judiciary playing an active role, and the accused cannot be released on financial bail." ".

Referring to the current Prime Minister's advisor, Haitham al-Jubouri, Abdul Wahed said,

"There is talk about the involvement of the former head of the Finance Committee and he is now the Prime Minister's advisor, and

the Prime Minister's Office has a hand in the matter, and he sent a letter to the Tax Authority," indicating that "all these The Tax Authority, Rafidain Bank and the Prime Minister's Office must be referred to the judiciary, prevented from traveling, investigated, and the accused arrested."

Last Wednesday, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee hosted the advanced cadre of the Ministry of Finance on the theft of trillions of taxes.

A parliamentary source told (Baghdad Today) that

"Parliamentary Integrity is holding its meeting now with the Minister of Oil in his capacity as the exempted Minister of Finance, the Agency and Agents of Finance and Public Taxes, the Rafidain Bank, the Federal Integrity Commission and the Office of Financial Supervision regarding the file of lost money, revenues and tax secretariats."  He pointed out that

"the meeting was attended by the advisor to the Minister of Finance and the deputy director of the Rafidain Bank."
