The Sadrist bloc pledged, on Monday, to work to root out corruption and enact deterrent laws against thieves of public money.

A statement by the media office of the bloc's representative, Ali Hussein Al-Saadi, received by the National News Center, said that he "participated today, Monday, in an introductory workshop on the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the Doha Declaration for Parliamentarians.. He added,

"The participation comes in the workshop held by the Parliamentary Development Institute in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in Iraq, as part of the quest to advance the reality of parliamentary work." He continued,

"to review the terms of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the mechanism for its application on the ground, as well as to address the portals through which this phenomenon spreads.

MP Al-Saadi confirmed that he will work with his colleagues in the Sadrist bloc to root out the widespread scourge of corruption by legislating strict laws and applying them firmly and without hesitation.
