Thanks JJONESMX! I do believe that oil is going to be the sugar daddy but the importance of agriculture is incredibly understated. This geographical region is not famous for its massive crops to say the least... but because of political strife and chaos, competing with Egypt is going to be a lot easier now and that puts Iraq in a wonderful position to actually become (long range goal) a major food exporter! Take away the extreme costs associated with delivery and the middle man (middle countries in this case!) and that spells huge price reductions in life staples... that means there is more money to spend on other things. I did get a kick out of the process though... increasing farmer's available hours with electricity is a unique way to increase production! I would actually say the added electrical hours benefits food processors and distributors much more than the actual producers. Hopefully I am wrong and this is exactly what the farmers need.
