Arbil, November 29 (Rn) - The U.S. ambassador to Baghdad James Jeffrey Tuesday that the success of the political process in Iraq is in Washington. He pointed out that the United States will work to support the Iraqi government "legitimacy and democracy."

The words of Jeffrey operations while implementing his orderly withdrawal from Iraq to the remaining number of troops, amounting to less than 18 thousand.

Despite the claims of the survival of a limited number of U.S. troops to withdraw and that the plan has reached an advanced stage and nearing to withdraw last troops before the beginning of next year.

Jeffrey said during a meeting with Iraqi Vice President Khodair al-Baghdad "The U.S. government is interested in the success of the political process in Iraq."

The meeting was attended by the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, Gen. Lloyd Austin.

Jeffrey said in a statement issued by the Office Khuzaie "We will support the Iraqi government, all we can because it is a legitimate government and democracy."

The U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, the members of the U.S. Congress earlier that the United States should consider increasing its military presence in Kuwait to counter Iranian influence "growing" in Iraq and the Gulf region.

Jeffrey continued, "We must respect the sovereignty (government's) and we are keen not to interfere in its internal affairs," the statement said.

The political and military leaders expect the Americans to reach a supplementary agreement with Iraq would remain a limited number of American soldiers for training and other tasks.

But those negotiations broke down with Washington's insistence on the trial of any accused U.S. troops of committing errors in U.S. courts is not Iraq.

For his part, said Khuzai said in the statement "our (Americans) believed in us to apply the terms of the agreement signed between us. We hope the rest of the application of the provisions of this Convention."

Under the security pact signed between Baghdad and Washington in 2008 to end the U.S. military presence in Iraq by the end of next month.
