11/18/2011 | (Voice of Iraq) - Add comments - Sumerian News / Baghdad The president of the Islamic Supreme Council Ammar al-Hakim, on Friday, that the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, a major national achievement for all the national forces participating in the political process, calling for the preparation of plans and approaches true to save the responsibility for security in the country. Hakim said during a speech to mark the twenty-ninth of the founding of the Council that "the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, an achievement of nationally significant for all the national forces participating in the political process, including the Supreme Council, which contributed significantly to the conclusion of the Convention." Hakim added that the "There is a great responsibility lies with the Iraqis, namely to achieve security and stability after the American withdrawal from the country," calling on the leaders of security agencies to "prepare the approach and plans right for that." Iraq has signed and the United States, too, in 2008, the Framework Agreement strategy to support the ministries and agencies Iraq's transition from a strategic partnership with the Republic of Iraq to the areas of economic, diplomatic, cultural and security, based on reducing the number of reconstruction teams in the provinces, as well as providing important sustainable rule of law, including the police development program and the completion of the coordination and supervision and the report of the Fund of Iraq relief and reconstruction. The security agreement signed between Baghdad and Washington at the end of November 2008 states that it should withdraw all U.S. forces from all territory and waters and airspace of Iraq not later than 31 December of 2011 the current, having withdrawn U.S. combat forces under the Convention, cities, villages and towns in Iraq June 30, 2009.
