Bloc MP for the Liberal Jawad al-Hasnawi in connection with the arrest of Baghdadi former governor of Karbala, Akeel al-Khazali and eight other officials in the province on charges of corruption worth twenty-three billion Iraqi dinars.

Hasnawi said that the defendants are from the Dawa Party, led by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, adding that there is pressure from government agencies were held to eliminate the release of the accused.
