Shafaq News / The spokesman of the popular crowd troops fighting alongside Iraqi security forces, announced on Saturday that the forces that are waging attacks since about two weeks ago to restore Tikrit city from ISIS will be completed within 72 hours. The leader in "Badr Organization" Karim Nouri told reporters that ISIS members who are still holed up in Tikrit city center are encircled from all sides, adding that "Tikrit will be freed within 72 hours. "Badr Organization” is one of the most prominent militant Shiite factions, fighting alongside Iraqi army and police, to restore the areas dominated by ISIS organization during its sweeping attack in Iraq in June. He said in a statement to AFP from the nearby village of Awja to Tikrit (110 km north of Baghdad) that the number of these militants "are between 60 and 70". He stressed that the declaration of "liberation" of the city will not be announced until lifting all roadside bombs which are in the thousands planted by the organization on the sides of roads and in homes.
