Turkish companies based in Kurdistan springboard for business

Farouk Kemaqi who is currently visiting Erbil met with the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani and discussed Turkish relations between the provincial government and the Turkish government said, "We have stressed that Turkey was ready to provide various kinds of support to ensure development, peace and security in Iraq, and discussed investment opportunities and how to increase the volume of trade between Turkey and the Kurdistan region ".
He said the Turkish ambassador to the experience gained in the region offers significant opportunities, saying, "I see that the developments that have been achieved in Arbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dahuk as a source of inspiration for economic policy followed in the region and the benefits provided to businesses Turkish provide further attraction of investment for Turkish companies and investors."
Kemaqi added, that "Of the total 1600 Turkish companies operating in Iraq, of which there are 1,300 companies in the Kurdistan region."
