Iraq and Australia discuss possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce (PFP)

BAGHDAD / NINA / Director General of the Foreign Relations Department at the Ministry of Trade, Hashim Mohammed Hatem discussed with the Australian Ambassador Lyndall Sachs development of bilateral economic relations between Iraq and Australia.

The Ministry of Trade said in a press statement that during the meeting, they discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of both countries to develop relations between the private sector as well as the entry of Australian companies in the Iraqi market in the fields of oil, construction and trade.

Australian Ambassador offered to sign a comprehensive memorandum of understanding between Iraq and Australia instead of the previous six memorandums of understanding, which expire in April 2014, according to the statement. / End
