A statement issued on Monday, Apr. 1, Iraqi Journalists Union called on security authorities to step up attempts to uncover the incidents' complications and the sides behind them.
In its statement, the Iraqi Journalists Union stressed that repeating the attacks against journalists and their institutions shows that there are sides that do not realize the media's role in serving the country's construction scheme, through attempts to impose the law of the jungle against dialogue and democracy.
During the day, unknown persons set on fire the premises of Al-Mustaqbal al Iraqi daily "Iraqi Future" and the car of its Editor in Chief, forcing the staff to escape unharmed.
Another group stormed the premises of Al-Nass daily, tampering its equipments and forcing the staff to leave. And the daily al-Dustour daily has been subjected to same treatment. / End.
