I learned Agency (UR) of a source familiar with that Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and Abdul Basit Turki Agency decided to prevent press statements for all bank officials. The source said that "Turki told all officials in the Iraqi Central Bank to refrain from press statements." He added that "Turkish officials did not reach the positive reasons for the decision to ban statements."

The decision comes after a series of government measures and a long judicial officials in the Bank's most prominent governor Sinan al-Shabibi, who the judiciary right Amadkrh issued arrest with the Council of Ministers decided to withdraw his hand from office. Shabibi holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Bristol, England, in 1975.
