Electricity Ministry announced its intention to begin implementing projects for electric power generation based on alternative sources of any solar or wind energy.

A spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity Musab teacher that Iraq planned to set up 16 stations run on solar energy distributed to the provinces: Anbar, Muthanna, Dhi Qar and Basra, Maysan, Wasit, will build six exploit wind power stations in the provinces of Anbar and Muthanna.

The teacher added that obstetric energy to these stations would be about 100 megawatts, and the Ministry of Electricity plans to raise production rates for these stations in the future of up to 150 MW.

The teacher pointed out that power plants based on solar and wind energy will be established in the border areas and remote, considering that most of these areas rely on diesel generators to provide electricity.
Economic analyst questioned Dargham Muhammad Ali in the possibility of success of the Ministry of Electricity in this project because it originally failed to provide electricity to the citizens in the usual ways, as he put it.

Iraq has been suffering from scarcity is evident in power despite spending billions of dollars on projects to build generating plants, as not exceeding the amount of output current 8 thousand megawatts, which covers about half of the actual need of 14 thousand megawatts.
