Erbil: completion of a water project worth three million dollars at the expense of South Korea

Erbil, July 19 (Rn) - opened on Tuesday near the water project secretion II Prefecture Korogusk (42 km northwest of Erbil), the draft basin water storage, and cost the project about three million U.S. dollars and can provide the city of Arbil, two million liters of water per day.

Attended the opening ceremony of the project, both the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism Samir Abdullah and South Korean Ambassador Pak Sag Bonn and a number of profile officials of Kurdistan Regional Government.

The governor of Arbil Nawzad Hadi, in a speech attended by decree opening and the correspondent of the Kurdish news agency (Rn), "The opening of the basin water storage project, will contribute greatly in addressing the crisis of water scarcity in some parts of the city of Arbil."

And completed projects so far water secretion 1, 2, 3, and requested the Governor of Erbil from the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism provincial government, the implementation of the Water Project secretion 4, to end the problem of water scarcity within the province of Arbil completely.

For his part, Minister of Municipalities and the province's tourism, Samir Abdullah, for (Rn) that "the proposed water storage basin was carried out by a South Korean company (for water) and spent by the Government of South Korea about three million and 500 thousand dollars U.S.."

Abdullah explained that "the importance of this project lies in its ability to add two million liters of water per day than before, and that the basin capacity for three thousand cubic meters of water."

He pointed out that "the project consists of a plant to generate electricity and operate the computerized system and keeps the surface water."

Made with South Korean Ambassador to Iraq, where the word came that "the implementation of this project is part of attempts and the work and activities of the State of South Korea in the Kurdistan region," adding, "We would like to end the water problem in the region and support the parties concerned."

"The South Korean government is seeking to develop and strengthen relations in various fields with the Kurdistan region in the context of Iraq."
