Central Bank seeks to reduce the use of banknotes in the country due to security conditions that make money transport difficult and risky.

The bank said in a statement Thursday that he is currently working with local and foreign for the issuance of a special law systems electronic payment to be working within sound legal environment, and reported that Iraq has one of the most electronic payment systems advanced in the world, a system responsible for the exchange of payment orders between banks automatically.

The statement also that the responsibility for the operation and management of settlement accounts between participants confined to the Central Bank to ensure the safety and efficiency of payment systems and transfer fees.
