Baghdad (AIN) –The President, Jalal Talabani, sent a message to the four leaders who met in Erbil to clarify the reason behind his rejection for signing the request for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, on Thursday.

The spokesman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Azad Jundiyani, stated "Talabani respond the message that he received from the sides of Erbil meeting through a message that clarify the facts for them about why he did not sign the request of withdrawing the confidence from Maliki."

He rejected to explain the content of the message saying "The four leaders did not reveal the content of their message to Talabani, thence we do not reveal the content of Talabani's message."

"If they announce the content of their message, Talabani's message will be announced for media outlets," he concluded.

The four leaders met in Erbil are Ayad Allawi, Masoud Barzani, Osama al-Nijaifi and Muqtada al-Sadr.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured, on last Saturday night, that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

The political sides which held a meeting in Erbil on last Sunday decided to send "A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffesient and valid.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki. /End/
