Dohuk, July 3 (Rn) – A member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for the Kurdistan Alliance bloc said on Sunday that his bloc would not object to the draft, “new and revised” to oil and gas law, noting that it is associated with either no significant changes affecting the content of the draft law.

Atroshi said Farhad, a member of the Commission on oil and energy parliamentary, told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) announced today that “The draft revised and new oil and gas law did not reach the House of Representatives so far,” .. He said, “but according to our information, not as a response to any objection, on the contrary, we agree and agree to the revised version.”

He noted that “even in the event to make some changes and modifications, on condition that touched the essence of law and basic concepts that have been installed in the draft in 2007, we will wait the Council of Ministers in order to send a new project revised to the Council of Representatives, and we will submit to the Presidency of the parliament to be read and agree with it” .. However, to say “that does up the new draft, we draft, we will give the old, and I mean the last draft we received from the Council of Ministers in 2007 as I recall.”

The statement has been issued, on Saturday, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, Hussein Shahristani, in which he stated that Iraq has introduced some amendments to the draft oil law, which is long overdue and reviewed by the Energy Commission, the Council of Ministers.

The Information Office of Shahristani in his statement that “the Committee headed by al-Shahristani discussed at its meeting last Thursday, the amended version of the draft law of oil and gas, which was referred to the Ministry of Oil” .. Noting that “the Committee decided to study the draft and raise Mlhozadtha at the next meeting to be held next week.”

And about the possibility of considering the draft law of oil and gas will pass under the approval of the Kurds was, according to Atroshi “I do not know exactly, but according to my knowledge, challenged the first and that usually hinder this law is the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, Dr. Hussain al-Shahristani, who was the former oil minister” .. He continued by saying, “Shahristani is more people object to this law and tries to be changes to it as he wishes.”

He warned Atroshi means and described “Balmkhadah” .. Noting that “the previous version of the project which took place around the differences,

When debated in the Council of Ministers sent to the State Advisory Council for the correct language, but the Council of State had changes in content and substance “.. saying that” this action is unreasonable and unacceptable, because of their work should be a purely linguistic and away from any changes in the substance of the law “.

The cabinet approved the draft law of oil and gas in 2007 but faced a Kurdish objection, it was seen by observers representing differences between Erbil and Baghdad over the sharing of oil revenues and control over some fields in northern Iraq and the Kurdistan region.

The law will determine the party that controls Iraq’s vast oil reserves, the fourth-largest reserves in the world and also aims to attract foreign investors.

Iraq and select a target to increase production capacity to 12 million barrels per day by 2017 from about 2.7 million barrels per day currently.
