Baghdad (AIN) -Minister of Foreign Affairs Hoshyar Zebari discussed on Monday with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq Hasan DanaeFer the bilateral relations between the two countries.

A statement announced by Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday said that "The Iranian Ambassador discussed with Zebari the Iraqi debts to Iran due to importing electricity power and fuel for three months to operate the power stations."

Zebari assured "The Iraqi willingness to cooperate with the Iranian side to pay these debts because the electricity issue is vital to Iraq."

The problem of paying the Iranian debts collide with imposing sanctions on Iran which prevents Iraq from transferring money to the Iranian accounts.

Iraq has demanded from the UN to be execluded from the sanctions resolutions against Iran. /End/
