NAJAF / Aswat al-Iraq: A total of 600,000 Iraqi dinars allocated annually as part of the 2012 budget for the retired people, a lawmaker from the financial committee said on Saturday.

“100 billion dinars have been allocated for university and institutes students, in addition to 95 billion dinars to support the Iraqi Housing Fund,” Majda Abdulmajied al-Tamimi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The commission also set 50 billion dinars for the immigration ministry and 75 billion for the reconstruction of the Shiite holy shrines,” she added.

Iraq's parliament approved on Thursday the 2012 budget of 117 trillion Iraqi dinars ($100 billion) with a deficit of 17 trillion dinars ($14.8 billion),

Approximately 17.171 billion dollars was allocated for defense purposes, while an additional 20.460 billion dollars was allocated for electricity.
