BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A Middle Bloc MP today expressed anticipation that the coming Arab Summit will be postponed due to the present political conditions in the country.
The Summit is expected to be held on 29 March next.
"Holding the Summit in Iraq is a historical opportunity to take a pioneering stand among the Arab countries," MP Waleed Aboud al-Muhammadi said in a press statement received by Aswat al-Iraq.
He expected the postponement due to political interactions inside Iraq; particularly considering that some Arab countries have taken certain stands against Iraq.
The Arab League postponed the Arab Summit until March 2012, following an Iraqi request and general agreement of the Arab countries.
