Erbil / Aswat al-Iraq: Zafar Caglayan, Minister of Foreign Trade Affairs in the Turkish government that Turkey aims to increase trade with Iraq to more than 20 billion U.S. dollars, noting that last year the volume of trade exchange with Iraq $ 12 billion.
Turkish minister made the remarks Wednesday during his participation in the Business Forum between the Kurdistan region, Iraq and Turkey with the participation of some 70 Turkish companies and more than one hundred and fifty Turkish businessman.
The Turkish minister in a speech at the forum, which concluded on Wednesday afternoon in the hall of Saad Al-Abdullah of the conference in Arbil, "The volume of bilateral trade last year with Iraq was $ 12 billion and we hope to reach this year to more than 20 billion U.S. dollars."
He said the Turkish minister said his government is taking a package of measures to expand the process of trade with Iraq through the opening of border crossings again to the crossing Ibrahim Khalil in the city of Zakho, "The gate current with it's strategy, but it is not sufficient and we have signed agreements with the Iraqi side to open the gates again between two countries in the region Hinawa (Zakho) and must take urgent action to eliminate the long queues waiting at the border. "
He also stressed the importance of the Business Forum held today in Erbil between businessmen Turak, Iraqis, Turks, pointing to the conclusion of contracts for millions of dollars and said "participated in the Forum 70 companies Turkish and 150 of Turkey's business and got a piece of information that he was hired at about $ 15 million after Forum witnessed a 800 for a meeting between businessmen, Turks and Iraqis. He also noted that today was the signing of a protocol between each of the Chamber of Commerce, Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce and the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
