Parliamentary Finance: Adjusting the exchange rate will not affect the salaries of employees

The Parliamentary Finance Committee, on Saturday, attributed the reasons for the delay in sending the draft federal budget law for the year 2023 to the House of Representatives to change the exchange rate of the dollar in the draft law.
Committee member Faisal Al-Naeli said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency,
"The government delayed sending the budget due to the exchange rate adjustment by the Central Bank in the 2023 budget." He added,
"The salaries of employees will not be affected by the change in the exchange rate and will not be affected in any way," stressing that
"the increase in foreign exchange reserves with the Central Bank to its highest level since 2003, which enables Iraq to pay the salaries of employees without delay."
It is noteworthy that the employee salary bill rose in the 2023 budget to 62 trillion Iraqi dinars. End / 25 h
