In turn, the oil minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi called for the launch of a campaign to encourage investments in the oil and other sectors as well as encouraging national investments to make up for the shortfall in the budget and increase state revenues, and predicted that oil production rates are for 2016 up to 3 million and 700 000 barrels per day, calling for fundamental changes to the oil licensing contracts being signed at a time when oil prices are high.
