The Minister of Oil ministry's keenness to create a safe environment for attracting investments flowing into the oil sector and elevate the interests of the oil industry in the country. He praised the role of oil minister, Russia's LUKOIL in the development and increase production in the West Qurna-2 and Iraq's desire to increase the volume of cooperation with the company to include other new projects. Pointing out that the ministry is making great efforts to overcome the difficulties that may impede the work of foreign companies operating in Iraq as part of the licensing rounds. For his part, CEO of Lukoil Ali Alekperov said the company is keen to increase the volume of cooperation and investments in oil and gas exploration and petrochemical industries sector, denying the statements attributed to him and that the contracts with Iraq under the licensing rounds allow them to stay for many years. He Alekperov said his company is committed to the development plans and the increase in production in the oil fields, including the West Qurna 2 field, which has achieved a significant increase in production and the period of record. The Russian company Lukoil is one of the discreet international companies working to develop the West Qurna 2 field in the second licensing round.
