BAGHDAD / Baghdadi Uz..aalnt Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, on Saturday, for lack of commitment to the instructions of the border crossings to prevent the entry of some agricultural crops in the height of the domestic production, as pointed out that continue to import these crops cause big losses for local farmers.
Committee Chairman Furat al-Tamimi told a news conference held at the parliament building and attended by the correspondent / Baghdadi News / "The committee supports the government's measures to prevent the import crops of tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers and flooding the market in which the national product, which is a clear violation of the Law No. 11 for the year 2010 account," asserting that " Although prevent the entry of agricultural crops measures, but some border crossings are still committed to the instructions to prevent their entry into the country. "
He added that "continue to import agricultural crops policy will cause considerable material losses to local farmers, especially in the provinces of Basra and Najaf," and urged the concerned authorities to "prevent the entry of these crops to Iraq during the height of the domestic production."
