Iraqi oil begins to receive objections to the participating companies the
fourth licensing round
Baghdad, September 14 / September (Rn) -

The Iraqi Oil Ministry said on Wednesday it had begun to receive objections to
the international companies participating in the fourth round of licenses for
prospecting and exploration for oil and gas.

The Ministry of Oil in Baghdad, they were presented on Sunday in the Jordanian capital Amman Balriqa initial contracts for exploration of 12 oil and gas sites in Iraq, with 46 foreign companies will participate in the licensing round.

The Oil Ministry has announced the launch of the fourth oil licensing round on April 25 / April, dedicated to explore for oil and gas in 12 locations.

The general director of contracts and licenses Abdul Mahdi al-Amidi, the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “The oil ministry has started to receive technical objections to the initial contracts for the licensing round, the fourth of global companies participating in the round.”

He added that “the Ministry of Oil will discuss the objections of the participating companies for contracts in the initial workshop held in Baghdad in mid-November next.”

Iraq had signed contracts with international companies to develop 11
oil fields discovered in the three rounds of the licenses would raise the country’s production of crude oil to 12 million barrels per day within the next six years from 2.4 million a day now.

This is the first time that shows the sites where Iraq exploratory investment since the fall of the former Iraqi regime in 2003.
Iraq has the fourth-largest oil reserves in the world, oil revenues constitute 95 percent of the state budget, fiscal, but
differences on the validity of management of oil wealth to prevent the issuance of a law regulating the oil and energy affairs in the country.
