Shafaq News / Iraqi Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki couldn’t participate in a memorial service hosted by the Supreme Council on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Marjaa Mohammed Baqir al-Hakim, because of a health emergency.
The memorial ceremony was attended by senior leaders of political blocs as well as Arab and foreign personalities.
The mc of ceremonies, the leader in Dawa Party, Ali al-Adeeb gave a spaach instead of Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki and attributed this to Maliki’s having a health problem.
“Shafaq News” tried to have more details about the health status of Maliki from his press office, but its attempts failed.
Maliki had previously had a surgery in 2010, according to a government statement at the time, but no one knew its nature.
