Mosawi denies Maliki's intention to dissolve Parliament, government

Baghdad (NINA) – Lawmaker from the State of Law Alliance, Salman al-Mosawi, denied reports that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki intends to request dissolving Parliament and the Government, he affirmed Maliki's intention to fulfill all of the protestors' legitimate demands.

In a statement to NINA on Friday, Jan. 4, Mosawi said, "Maliki is staying in his post, whoever desire to dissolve the government, may withdraw his ministers and lawmakers.

Mosawi affirmed, "Malik intends to fulfill all of the protestors' legitimate demands; he will request Parliament and Supreme Judicial Council discuss the possibilities of implementing other demands that are beyond his authorities."

Earlier in the day, source at the State of Law expressed Maliki's intention to request to dissolve Parliament and the Government to Vice President, Khoda'yir al-Khuza'e, being the President's representative.
