Baghdad (AIN) –MP Oday Awad of the Parliamentary Energy Committee revealed bribes files links Oil Distribution Directorate and number of fuel stations in different provinces.

Awad stated to (AIN) that “The committee possesses bribes and corruption files links the owners of local and governmental fuel stations and officials in Oil Distribution General Directorate in the Ministry of Oil.”

“The bribes were paid to increase number of times fuel provided to the stations per week, officially each fuel station is provided with fuel three times per week, but the committee has documents stated that some stations were provided with fuel 10 times a week according to illegal agreements between station owners and the directorate officials,” Awad added.

Administration and financial corruption is one of the main problems facing Iraq, since the Transparency International Organization announced that Iraq is "among the most corrupted countries in the world." /End/
