Information Security organizes a workshop on cybersecurity in Erbil

The Information Security Department at the Central Bank of Iraq organized a workshop for the employees of the Erbil branch entitled (Awareness about information security and cybersecurity).
The workshop included a group of specialized topics on “Cybersecurity and the risks resulting from cyberattacks and how to address them.”
The director of the Erbil branch, Mr. Kazem Namq Ahmed, said that
the workshop aims to raise the level of awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and become aware of the most common cyber threats and ways to deal with them,
stressing the importance of raising awareness of cyber security issues to confront the threats and risks resulting from digital openness and the increasing reliance on technology in our daily lives,
pointing out 80% of cyber risks are due to human errors resulting from
lack of awareness or lack of knowledge and
ignorance of the basics of dealing with the Internet.
The workshop covered topics related to
health security practices and cybersecurity,
applications on cybersecurity practices (frameworks, tools and techniques),
methods for detecting cyber risks and how to deal with them, and
modern trends in the field of cybersecurity in all fields.
Cybersecurity includes a set of policies and technologies aimed at
preventing attacks,
maintaining the integrity of digital systems, and
building a barrier against increasing cyber threats through the
use of anti-virus programs, firewalls, and software updates.
